Choosing your preferred market

In order to work out what the best equipment packages is for your needs, it's important to choose your preferred market.

For example, cleaning a domestic home would normally require different equipment to a commercial gym or leisure centre. This is mainly due to the different sized areas needed to cover, and different floor types and surfaces.

The following are the three main market groups in the cleaning service industry.

Domestic market
Domestic Market

The domestic market consists of cleaning services in residential environments. However, it can also be grouped to include office or communal area apartment cleaning.

Domestic cleaning services can include:

  • Carpet cleaning
  • Upholstery cleaning
  • Tile and grout cleaning
  • Window cleaning
  • Bathroom cleaning
  • Kitchen cleaning

Commercial market
Commercial Market

The commercial market consists of cleaning services in commercial environments. It is common for contract cleaners who work in the commercial environment to attain long term contracts.

It can be possible to do a cross over between domestic and commercial cleaning services. However, you need to ensure the commercial cleaning markets chosen are not in the "large commercial" bracket, otherwise your domestic cleaning equipment may not be suitable.

Some of these more domestic style commercial facilities include small inns or cafes.

Commercial cleaning sectors can include:

  • Healthcare cleaning i.e. hospitals and aged care facilities.
  • Accommodation: hotels, motels, inns, caravan parks.
  • Food and Beverage: restaurants, cafes, bars, pubs.
  • Animal care: vets, kennels, and lost dogs homes.
  • Automotive cleaning: truck cleaning, car detailing
  • Education: schools, child care centres, universities
  • Public Venues: swimming pools, gyms, and leisure centres
